Central Hai Phong has five major cinema complexes selling tickets online: CGV AEON Mall, CGV Vincom, Galaxy Cinema, Lotte Cinema and AEON BETA Vincom Royal Island. Galaxy and Lotte are good places to start near Hai Phong Railway Station or the city center. CGV Vincom serves the Hong Bang area, while CGV AEON Mall is convenient for Le Chan. 1. What cinemas are available in Hai Phong?

The following list focuses on urban Hai Phong, excluding the former Hai Duong area, which became part of the expanded city following the 2025 administrative merger.

Cinemas in the former Hai Duong area are covered separately later in this guide, since they serve a different part of the city and are not particularly convenient for someone staying in central Hai Phong.

Addresses use the updated ward names, although some booking websites may still display the former administrative divisions.

CGV has two locations in Hai Phong: AEON Mall and Vincom Imperia. These are separate cinema complexes, with different ticket prices, screening rooms and showtimes.

Current central Hai Phong ticketing listings also do not show BHD Star, Cinestar or a standard Beta Cinemas branch. AEON BETA is a separate cinema brand rather than a regular Beta Cinemas location.

2. Which cinema should you choose based on where you’re staying?

Choosing a nearby cinema usually makes more sense than crossing the city to save a small amount on tickets.

On weekend evenings, you also need to account for parking, finding the correct entrance, getting upstairs and collecting any tickets or snacks.

Near Hai Phong Railway Station or the Opera House: Galaxy or Lotte

Galaxy Cinema Hai Phong is at 104 Luong Khanh Thien Street, on the same street as Hai Phong Railway Station.

It’s a convenient option for visitors staying around the station, Cau Dat, Lach Tray or the older city-center streets.

The cinema occupies the seventh floor of Nguyen Kim - Sai Gon Mall.

Be careful not to confuse it with another Nguyen Kim electronics store. Searching for "Galaxy Cinema Hai Phong" or the full address, 104 Luong Khanh Thien Street, should lead you to the correct building.

Lotte Cinema is inside Vincom Plaza Le Thanh Tong, at 1 Le Thanh Tong Street. Its location is convenient for people staying in Ngo Quyen Ward, around the port area or along roads connecting to the city center.

Both are reasonable choices for a standard 2D movie.

Compare their showtimes first, though. They may not offer the same number of screenings or the same subtitle versions.

Near Hong Bang or Vinhomes Imperia: CGV Vincom

CGV Vincom Hai Phong is located inside Vincom Plaza Imperia, at 1 Bach Dang Street.

This is a practical choice for residents of Vinhomes Imperia and people staying around Hong Bang.

The cinema has Gold Class and Sweetbox seating. For a date night or special occasion, these are worth considering instead of standard seats.

Near Le Chan and Vo Nguyen Giap Street: CGV AEON Mall

CGV AEON Mall Hai Phong is inside AEON Mall Le Chan at 10 Vo Nguyen Giap Street.

It’s particularly convenient if you want to combine a movie with shopping or a meal at the same mall.

The cinema has Starium, Cine & Suite and Cine & Forêt screening rooms.

Not every film is scheduled in these premium formats, but this is a good place to check when you want something beyond a standard 2D theater.

Near Thuy Nguyen or Vu Yen Island: AEON BETA

AEON BETA Vincom Royal Island occupies the fourth floor of Vincom Mega Mall Royal Island on Vu Yen Island.

The shopping mall opened on October 3, 2025, bringing another movie theater option to the Thuy Nguyen area.

It’s convenient if you live on Vu Yen Island or are already visiting the development.

However, don’t assume Royal Island is the closest cinema just because it appears nearby on a map. Check the actual road route from the old city center, including bridge crossings and the journey home after the movie.

3. CGV AEON Mall Hai Phong: a good choice for premium screens

The main attraction here is the variety of screening rooms.

Starium

Starium features a large screen and nearly 400 seats.

It’s worth considering for action movies, science fiction and films with expansive cinematography, provided the movie you want actually has a Starium screening.

Cine & Suite

Cine & Suite focuses on a more comfortable premium seating experience.

It’s a good option when you’re willing to spend more for a relaxed movie night rather than simply booking a standard seat.

Cine & Forêt

Cine & Forêt has a design inspired by a tropical forest, with Bean and Bed seating options.

It’s quite different from an ordinary theater with a little extra decoration. The seating arrangement and atmosphere are part of the experience.

At CGV AEON Mall Hai Phong, Cine & Forêt has specific promotional rates:

Regular adult tickets at CGV AEON Mall are generally more expensive than those at some other Hai Phong cinemas.

How to find CGV inside AEON Mall

AEON Mall’s usual shopping hours are 10:00 AM-10:00 PM on weekdays and 9:00 AM-10:00 PM on weekends.

The cinema itself lists operating hours from 9:00 AM until midnight.

If you arrive before 10:00 AM on a weekday or book a movie that finishes after 10:00 PM, pay attention to the designated cinema entrance and exit.

Not every shopping mall entrance necessarily follows the cinema’s operating hours.

Save your motorbike or car’s parking zone and floor on your phone.

AEON Mall has a large parking area. Spending twenty minutes looking for your vehicle after a late movie is a rather unnecessary finale.

4. CGV Vincom Hai Phong: best for Gold Class and comfortable seating

CGV designs its Gold Class experience around premium, business-class-inspired seating.

The screening rooms have fewer seats and a more private atmosphere than standard cinema halls.

There are also Sweetbox seats designed for couples.

However, Sweetbox and Gold Class aren’t the same thing. Don’t assume a seat marked VIP on the booking chart is automatically a Gold Class seat.

Promotional prices at CGV Vincom Hai Phong:

• Happy Wednesday Gold Class tickets: 200,000 VND.
• Culture Day, on the last Monday of the month: 150,000 VND.

These are promotional rates for specific dates, not prices for every Gold Class screening.

Vincom Plaza Imperia generally operates from 10:00 AM to 9:30 PM.

If your movie ends after the mall’s regular closing time, ask cinema staff which exit you should use.

5. Galaxy Cinema Hai Phong: convenient for the railway station area

Its location makes it particularly convenient if you’re based in central Hai Phong, especially around the railway station and Luong Khanh Thien Street.

In 2026, standard adult tickets here have a reference price from 60,000 VND on weekdays, below the regular adult rates at Hai Phong’s two CGV locations.

You can browse showtimes through the Lotte Cinema website or app, as well as supported ticketing partners such as MoMo and VNPAY.

Lotte lets customers purchase tickets directly through its website or application and retrieve booking details in their accounts.

For tickets bought through the Lotte app, the operator’s guidance allows customers to present their digital tickets at the cinema.

One location detail can be confusing: older information sometimes mentions a Lotte cinema around Le Hong Phong Street and Lotte Mart.

7. AEON BETA Vincom Royal Island: a newer cinema on Vu Yen Island

Tickets for this cinema are sold on platforms including Moveek and VNPAY.

The AEON BETA website also provides sections for currently showing movies, promotions, ticket collection and order information.

Reference prices for 2026 put standard 2D seats at approximately 65,000 VND on weekdays and 70,000 VND on weekends.

The cinema also offers DOKI DOKI couple seating, with prices quoted for a pair.

AEON BETA is convenient if you’re staying in Vu Yen or Thuy Nguyen, or if you’re visiting Royal Island for the day.

Galaxy, Lotte or CGV Vincom may be easier choices for anyone staying near the railway station or central Hai Phong.

Since AEON BETA has fewer screening rooms than CGV AEON Mall, check the schedule before traveling there.

A particular movie might have only a limited number of showtimes, or the version you need might not be showing that day.

8. Cinema ticket prices in Hai Phong in 2026

Ticket prices aren’t fixed across Hai Phong.

Even for the same movie, the final price can depend on the day of the week, seat category, 2D or 3D format, premium screening rooms and available discounts.

Student, youth and under-23 discounts

Don’t automatically use the adult prices above for everyone in your group.

CGV has U22 and other youth-related ticket categories subject to its membership and age rules.

At its two Hai Phong cinemas, the rate is 70,000 VND for eligible customers under the applicable promotion.

Galaxy and Lotte also offer discounts for students or younger audiences, depending on the program.

However, age limits, required documents and booking rules vary by chain.

Groups with children, students or older family members should check the discount conditions before booking everyone on an app.

Buying regular adult tickets online may be simpler, but it isn’t always the cheapest option.

Are Tuesdays and Wednesdays cheaper?

Booking AEON BETA Vincom Royal Island tickets

AEON BETA has an official website and its own booking system.

You can browse movies, choose a location, select your screening and check order information.

If you’re using a partner platform such as VNPAY, verify that the selected location is AEON BETA Vincom Royal Island.

Don’t accidentally choose another AEON BETA or Beta Cinemas location.

This matters because AEON BETA operates at several destinations across Vietnam, including the former Hai Duong area.

11. Can you pay with Visa, Mastercard or MoMo?

Major cinema chains in Hai Phong support online payments, although the available methods may differ by website, application and booking platform.

CGV’s Sweetbox seats, along with couple seating at Galaxy and AEON BETA, can be good choices when you want to sit together.

These seats may have different pricing structures from standard tickets.

Check whether the displayed price is per person or per couple.

At AEON BETA Vincom Royal Island, the 2026 reference price list identifies DOKI DOKI couple seats as seating for two, rather than a single-person ticket.

Watching a movie with children

An aisle seat can make bathroom breaks easier.

But before choosing seats, make sure the film is appropriate for your child’s age.

Vietnam uses film classification labels including P, K, T13, T16 and T18.

For T13, T16 and T18 films, viewers below the stated age threshold are not allowed to attend, even when accompanied by an adult.

A fantasy or animated movie might look family-friendly from its poster, but its official classification still matters.

13. How early should you arrive at the cinema?

When you reach the theater, check the film title, start time and auditorium number printed on your ticket.

Don’t enter a room simply because the poster outside shows the movie you booked.

The same film may be playing in multiple auditoriums only a few minutes apart.

What happens if your movie ends after the mall closes?

This situation is fairly common at cinemas inside shopping malls.

For example, AEON Mall Le Chan’s general shopping hours end at 10:00 PM, but CGV publishes operating hours until midnight.

Some screenings may finish after most shops have closed.

That doesn’t mean you’ll need to leave the movie early.

Just note that the exit used after the mall closes may differ from the one you entered through.

14. Which Hai Phong cinema is best for different movie nights?

There isn’t a single best cinema for everyone.

Someone who frequently watches Korean films may care most about subtitles.

A group of friends going to a major blockbuster might prioritize a large screen or a row of adjacent seats.

For Hollywood movies in English

Start by checking CGV, Galaxy and Lotte, then compare their showtimes.

Most Hollywood live-action films aimed at adult audiences are commonly screened in their original language with Vietnamese subtitles.

Animated and family movies require more care because Vietnamese-dubbed versions may also be available.

The booking page may offer both: choose Vietnam Sub rather than Vietnam Dub when you want the original English dialogue.

For Korean or Japanese movies with English subtitles

Don’t book a ticket just because your chosen film appears in the schedule.

Look for an explicit English Sub or Eng&Viet Sub label.

When the booking page doesn’t confirm English subtitles, ask the cinema directly.

A two-hour Korean film with Vietnamese-only subtitles can be difficult to follow if you don’t understand Korean or Vietnamese, no matter how comfortable the seats are.

For big-screen blockbusters

CGV AEON Mall is worth checking first because of its Starium auditorium.

The fact that CGV operates IMAX, 4DX or ScreenX theaters elsewhere in Vietnam doesn’t mean AEON Mall Hai Phong offers all those formats.

Use the format listed beside the actual showtime rather than the national cinema chain’s general advertising.

For an affordable weekday movie

Lotte, Galaxy and AEON BETA are good places to start your price comparison.

In 2026, regular adult 2D tickets at these cinemas start around 60,000-65,000 VND on weekdays, before promotions.

Membership discounts or age-based offers can change the comparison.

A CGV Happy Wednesday promotion, for instance, might work out better than a premium screening at another cinema that isn’t discounted.

For a date night

CGV Vincom Imperia offers Gold Class and Sweetbox, while CGV AEON Mall has Cine & Suite and Cine & Forêt.

Budget allowing, choosing a premium screening room can make the evening feel a little different.

For Cine & Forêt, check the seat diagram and the separate Bean and Bed prices carefully.

It’s easy to spend more than planned if you select a lounge-style seat when you originally intended to book a regular 2D ticket.

15. What cinemas are in the former Hai Duong area?

In 2025, Hai Duong and Hai Phong were merged into the expanded administrative city of Hai Phong.

As a result, searching for "cinemas in Hai Phong" may now return theaters in the former Hai Duong area as well.

These cinemas are more useful if you live, work or are staying around the former Hai Duong city center.

They aren’t close alternatives for visitors based in central port-side Hai Phong.

AEON BETA Hai Duong

This cinema is located on the third floor of AEON Hai Duong shopping mall, in the Thach Khoi Ward area.

It belongs to the same AEON BETA network as Vincom Royal Island but is a completely separate cinema.

Choose the correct location when booking online.

Lotte Cinema Hai Duong

Lotte Hai Duong is listed on the fourth floor of Do Gia Palace, 158 Ngo Quyen Street.

The cinema belongs to the Lotte Cinema chain and has online ticketing options.

Some map platforms display different street numbers, so using Do Gia Palace as your destination is helpful when checking directions.

Venus Cinema Hai Duong

Venus Cinema is located at 62-66 Nguyen Van Linh Street in central former Hai Duong.

It has three screening rooms and 343 seats.

This is a local cinema brand rather than part of the CGV, Lotte or AEON BETA networks.

Ramestar Hai Duong

Ramestar is listed at 172 Thanh Binh Street, but cinema listings don’t show a clear online ticket schedule for it.

Contact the venue to confirm it is operating before making a special trip.

Thong Nhat Cinema

Thong Nhat Cinema is a newly rebuilt cultural venue at 28 Ho Chi Minh Avenue, Le Thanh Nghi Ward.

The building was inaugurated on December 31, 2025.

It has three screening rooms with 44, 131 and 180 seats, providing a total capacity of 355.

The venue was introduced as a place for film-related cultural activities and screenings.

However, don’t expect daily commercial ticket booking in the same way as CGV or Lotte.

Anyone interested in film weeks, special screenings or local cultural events in the former Hai Duong area can follow announcements from the city’s cultural authorities.

16. What to check before confirming your booking

Three mistakes are especially easy to make if you’re new to Hai Phong or unfamiliar with Vietnamese cinema apps.

Choosing the wrong location: CGV AEON Mall and CGV Vincom are both CGV theaters, but they are in different parts of the city. AEON BETA Royal Island and AEON BETA Hai Duong are also separate venues.

Choosing the wrong language version: Vietnamese subtitles aren’t English subtitles, and Vietnamese dubbing means the original dialogue has been replaced with Vietnamese voice acting. An animated film may have several language versions under the same title.
