Booking Sheraton Hai Phong: which room to choose and what to budget for

Sheraton Hai Phong suits business trips and city breaks where a spacious room, an indoor pool and meals on site matter. Before booking, weigh those comforts against the taxi rides into the old city and the extras your room rate may leave out.

The 45-storey glass tower at No. 1 Hanoi Street, its podium joined to Vincom Plaza Imperia.

Vincom Plaza Imperia stands beside the 45-storey hotel tower, giving your driver an easy landmark to recognise. Sheraton Hai Phong is at 1 Hanoi Street in Vinhomes Imperia, roughly 3 km by road from the City Opera House. It is the former Vinpearl Hotel Imperia Hai Phong, so older photographs and booking-page names may still use Vinpearl.

Is Sheraton Hai Phong a good fit for your stay?

For a working trip, the appeal is straightforward. You can sleep, have breakfast, exercise and meet someone for a meal without organising a separate journey for each. Even the entry-level Deluxe rooms offer around 36-40 square metres, and the neighbouring shopping centre is useful when you need something you did not pack.

For a short city break, the indoor pool makes the hotel more useful on a rainy afternoon. There are restaurants on site, and higher rooms can offer broad views across the city. You can leave part of the day open without feeling that you need another outing to fill it.

The location is less convenient if you plan to spend most of your visit walking around the old streets, stopping for food and returning to your room between outings. The Opera House area is close enough for a taxi ride, but it is not immediately outside the lobby.

A useful way to decide is to picture your evenings. If you expect to finish work, swim and eat at the hotel, Sheraton makes sense. If you want to wander out repeatedly for snacks, cafés and late dinners around the old centre, compare the location with somewhere closer to those streets.

The current address, the former Vinpearl name and a nearby hotel to avoid confusing it with

Marriott lists the current address as No. 1 Hanoi Street, Vinhomes Imperia, Hong Bang Ward, Hai Phong.

Some booking platforms still show Thuong Ly Ward, Hong Bang District. That is the older administrative address. It does not indicate a second Sheraton property.

The hotel opened in 2019 as Vinpearl Hotel Imperia Hai Phong. It has 362 rooms in a 45-storey tower and changed to the Sheraton brand in 2022 following the partnership between Vinpearl and Marriott International.

You may still encounter “Vinpearl Imperia Hai Phong” in an old review, image caption or booking-page address. Match the property using its current name and street address.

The hotel’s telephone number is +84 225 3266 888. For room arrangements, deposits and transfer enquiries, the reservations email is hp.reservation@sheraton.com.

Getting to the old centre, the station, Cat Bi Airport and Vu Yen

The distances below are approximate road distances. Your route will depend on the entrance used, traffic and the exact drop-off point.

For the old streets, take a car first and walk from there

The Opera House is a practical starting point for exploring the older central streets. Take a taxi there, then continue on foot around the area you actually want to see.

This is particularly useful in hot weather or when travelling with someone who tires easily. Walking several kilometres from the hotel before starting your sightseeing can take the enjoyment out of a short outing.

The City Opera House decorated for Tet, a sensible drop-off point before exploring the old streets on foot.

With only one evening, combine dinner and a walk in the same trip into town. Returning to the hotel between dinner and coffee adds another pair of journeys.

Arriving from Hanoi by train? Check Thuong Ly as well

Hai Phong’s main station is not your only possible arrival point. Thuong Ly station is around 500 metres from the hotel.

When searching Vietnam Railways services, enter Thuong Ly as your destination to see which trains stop there. Do not assume that every Hanoi-Hai Phong train calls at the station.

The shorter distance can be convenient, although rain, luggage and the walking route still matter. With a large suitcase, a short car ride may be more comfortable than walking.

Vu Yen is a separate outing

Sheraton is a city hotel, not a hotel on Vu Yen island. Heading to VinWonders? Use the attraction’s actual entrance as your destination when arranging transport. The distance to Hoang Gia Bridge is not the full journey to the theme park.

You can visit Vu Yen and return to Sheraton that evening. For a one-night stay, though, consider how much time that leaves to use the hotel. Paying for Club access is less attractive if you will be away for most of its food and drink service.

Deluxe, Sheraton Club or a suite?

Deluxe: the sensible starting point for most stays

Deluxe rooms measure approximately 36-40 square metres and come with either one king bed or two single beds. They are described as city-view rooms.

A Deluxe king room with floor-to-ceiling windows looking over the city.

This is the first category to compare for a solo business trip, a couple of nights as a pair, or a visit where you will spend most of the day outside.

If two colleagues are sharing, select a twin room when booking. Adding “twin beds preferred” to a king-room reservation does not guarantee that the hotel can change the bed configuration.

Also separate the room category from the rate package. A Deluxe room may be sold with or without breakfast, with flexible cancellation or on a non-refundable basis. Matching room names alone does not make two offers equivalent.

Sheraton Club: choose it for the lounge benefits

Sheraton Club King and Twin rooms are around 43 square metres and include access to Sheraton Club on the 43rd floor. The advertised benefits include breakfast, evening snacks and drinks.

A Club King room with two walls of large windows over the city, a work desk and a reading chair.

The extra floor space over a Deluxe room is modest. The bigger question is whether you will use the lounge.

Club can be useful if you expect to eat breakfast at the hotel, return in time for the evening service and appreciate somewhere to sit outside your room. It is harder to justify if you leave early every morning and eat out every evening.

Before paying the difference, ask for the lounge’s current service times and where breakfast is served under your package. Lounge access should not be read as an all-inclusive dining arrangement throughout the hotel.

Executive Suite: when a separate living room matters

The Executive Suite is approximately 80 square metres, with a separate living room and Sheraton Club access.

It is worth considering for a longer stay, particularly if you want to keep work away from the bed or need more space to spend time indoors.

A larger room does not automatically include additional guests. Enter the full number of adults and the ages of any children before comparing prices. Extra-bed charges can change the total substantially.

The Presidential Suite is around 300 square metres, with three bedrooms on the 44th floor. For a typical solo or two-person visit, Deluxe, Club and Executive Suite are the more relevant comparisons.

Can you book a guaranteed river view?

The room descriptions use city-view or skyline-view wording. A photograph showing the Cam River does not mean every room in that category faces the same direction.

The property is non-smoking.

Sheraton Hai Phong room rates: compare the total, not the headline

There is no single nightly rate that applies throughout the low season. A hotel serving business travellers and conferences can have busy weekdays even outside popular holiday periods.

For a dated reference, a room for two adults on 2 October 2026 started from VND 1,800,000, excluding taxes and fees. That is an example of a rate advertised in 2026, not a current quote for November or a promise for your travel dates.

To find a usable price, enter your dates first. Then compare the same occupancy, bed type and cancellation terms across Marriott and the booking platforms you are considering.

Before paying, check:

  • Whether the final amount includes taxes and service charges.
  • How many guests receive breakfast.
  • The exact cancellation deadline.
  • Whether payment is immediate, collected before arrival or due at the hotel.

For two adults who both want hotel breakfast, a breakfast-inclusive package can work out better than the cheapest room-only offer. If you plan to leave for breakfast in town each morning, that inclusion may have little value.

A non-refundable saving also needs to be large enough to justify losing flexibility. This matters on working trips where meeting dates can move.

Breakfast, extra beds and the check-in deposit

Breakfast at Harbor

In 2026, breakfast bought separately was listed at:

GuestListed breakfast charge per person
AdultVND 396,900
Child aged 12-17VND 288,750
Child aged 4-11VND 144,375
Child aged 3 or underFree

At those listed rates, breakfast for two adults adds VND 793,800 per morning. That is enough to change which room package offers better value.

Children’s charges can differ between packages and booking channels. Enter each child’s age and review the conditions attached to your actual reservation rather than relying only on the general hotel policy.

Marriott publishes Harbor’s breakfast hours as 6 am-10 am, Monday to Saturday, and 6:30 am-10:30 am on Sunday. The later Sunday opening matters if you have an early departure.

Extra beds and cots

An extra bed was listed at VND 1,270,500 per person, per night in 2026, payable at the hotel. A cot for a child aged three or under is listed as free, but you should request it and obtain confirmation that one is available.

For three adults, compare the room-plus-extra-bed total with the cost of two rooms. Dividing a two-person headline rate by three will understate the cost.

Deposit information differs between booking platforms

One booking platform lists a VND 3,000,000 damage deposit on arrival, refundable in cash subject to the property’s inspection and conditions. Another says that no deposit is required.

Because those policies conflict, email the hotel with your reservation number. Ask whether your booking requires cash, a card authorisation or another arrangement, and when the amount is released or returned.

A refundable deposit is not part of the room’s final cost, but it can affect the cash or card balance available during your trip.

Check-in starts at 3 pm, and check-out is by noon. The main guest must be at least 18. International guests should have their original passport ready.

If you arrive in the morning, ask about luggage storage or early check-in separately. An early flight arrival does not mean the room will be ready.

Booking through Marriott or a third-party website

If you do not use Marriott Bonvoy, compare the final price, cancellation terms and support offered by each booking channel. A cheaper third-party rate may suit you if all the services you need are clearly included.

For Bonvoy members, the calculation also includes points, elite-night credit and status benefits.

Book through Marriott’s website or app, or directly with the hotel, using an eligible rate and your membership number if those benefits matter. Booking direct alone is not a reason to skip the rate conditions.

Under Marriott’s programme terms, ordinary bookings through third-party channels such as Booking, Agoda or Expedia are non-qualifying rates. Do not assume that adding your Bonvoy number at reception will make the stay eligible for points, elite-night credit or elite benefits.

Platinum, Titanium and Ambassador members receive lounge access under the programme’s applicable conditions, with one guest staying in the same room. If you already have qualifying status, check your existing entitlement before paying for a Club room purely to enter the lounge.

Three similar names are easy to confuse:

  • Marriott Bonvoy is the hotel loyalty programme.
  • Sheraton Club is the lounge and its associated room or status benefits.
  • Club Marriott is a separate paid dining-benefits programme.

A free Bonvoy account does not automatically qualify you for a Club Marriott buffet discount.

The indoor pool, gym and spa

Sheraton Hai Phong has one indoor four-season swimming pool, on the fifth floor, measuring approximately 225 square metres. It does not have an outdoor pool.

The supplied operating hours are 6 am-8 pm, for staying guests. Check the time before heading out if you plan to swim after dinner; the pool may be closed by the time you return.

The indoor four-season pool on the fifth floor, with loungers along the glass wall.

The gym is available to hotel guests and is described as open 24 hours, making it easier to fit around a late working day.

Sheraton Spa offers massages, facial treatments and facilities including steam rooms, saunas and whirlpool tubs. The supplied opening hours are 9 am-9 pm, with appointments required.

Older articles may call it Vincharm, its name during the Vinpearl period. Ask for Sheraton Spa when requesting the current treatment menu.

If the pool or a spa treatment is the main reason for your stay, confirm availability for your dates before committing. A short maintenance closure matters more on a one-night visit than on a week-long stay.

Non-residents interested in spa or fitness facilities should enquire separately about bookings and access. Being able to dine at the hotel does not include permission to use the pool.

Restaurants at Sheraton Hai Phong: can non-residents visit?

You do not have to stay overnight to dine at the hotel. Booking ahead is sensible for groups and weekend buffets. For Aqua Bar beside the pool, ask about access arrangements when reserving.

Harbor: breakfast, all-day dining and the seafood buffet

Harbor is on the fourth floor and serves Asian, European and international food. Outside breakfast service, Marriott lists its dining hours as 11 am-10 pm daily.

Harbor on the fourth floor, where breakfast and the weekend seafood buffet are served.

Club Marriott advertises a seafood buffet on Fridays and Saturdays, 6 pm-10 pm. The member price starts from VND 388,500++ per person, reflecting a 50% discount.

The “++” means service charge and VAT are additional. This is a Club Marriott member offer, not the general price for every diner.

Mention Club Marriott when booking and ask for the final payable amount, the number of diners covered and the offer’s validity on your chosen evening.

Yi Ling Ling, Lobby Café and Aqua Bar

VenueWhat to expectPublished hours
Yi Ling LingCantonese dining11:30 am-2:30 pm; 5:30 pm-9:30 pm
Lobby CaféCoffee, cakes and a meeting place in the lobby9 am-midnight
Aqua BarDrinks and light food beside the pool9 am-8 pm

If you arrive looking for lunch at 3 pm, Yi Ling Ling’s lunch service has finished. Harbor has the more suitable hours.

For coffee after dinner, Lobby Café stays open later than Aqua Bar. This is useful when meeting someone who is not staying at the hotel.

Restaurant reservations can be made through +84 225 3266 888 or sh.hphsi.restaurants@sheraton.com.

Be careful with old Sky Bar recommendations

Marriott’s current dining list contains Harbor, Lobby Café, Yi Ling Ling and Aqua Bar. Sky Bar and Riva, which appear in older articles and photographs, are not on that list.

The 43rd floor now houses Sheraton Club, where access is restricted by room benefits or eligible membership status.

If you are not staying and want a high-floor city view, call first to ask what is available to non-residents. An old rooftop-bar photograph is not enough to plan an evening around.

Airport transfers and parking

Cat Bi Airport is approximately 10-13 km away by road, depending on the route. You can arrange the hotel’s transfer service or use a taxi or ride-hailing app.

In 2026, the hotel airport shuttle was listed at VND 2,079,000 per vehicle, round trip, with a maximum of two passengers. Book ahead and request a confirmed quote based on your flight, passenger count and luggage.

If you only need one journey, compare that quote with the estimate shown by a service such as Grab or your chosen taxi operator. A hotel-arranged pickup may be convenient, but its price should not be assumed to match a standard taxi fare.

Marriott lists complimentary on-site parking and valet parking for staying guests. An electric-vehicle charging facility is also listed. If you need to charge overnight, check connector compatibility, availability and any charging costs in advance.

What previous guests praise, and what deserves attention

Guests rate the hotel at around 9.1/10 across 518 reviews.

Positive feedback highlights spacious, clean rooms, comfortable beds, sound insulation, open city views and helpful reception staff. The neighbouring Vincom is a practical advantage for guests who want shops and dining nearby.

Feedback from 2025-2026 also includes complaints about minibar cooling, bathroom ventilation, intermittent Wi-Fi and uneven handling of service requests or benefits. These are individual reports, not evidence that every room has the same problems.

Need the internet for a meeting? Test it after check-in while there is still time to ask for help. If the room has an odour or something is not working, report it early rather than leaving the conversation until check-out.

The hotel is most persuasive when you will use its facilities and are comfortable taking cars into the old centre. For a trip built around walking between local meals, cafés and historic streets, the location remains part of the cost even when the room rate looks attractive.

Before travelling, send one email containing your booking number, preferred bed arrangement, breakfast requirements and deposit question. Keep the reply available on your phone so you can refer to it at check-in.
